References

In order for you to write this essay, you will need to do some research.  Along with that research you will have to properly cite the references for the research you did.  Each side of your topic should be thoroughly researched and represented.  At the end of your essay, you will have a Reference page that is formated in the APA format.

There will be two parts to this Assignment.   Part one will be a practice of formatting a list of resources into APA format.  Part two will be using the APA format to create a Reference sheet for the research you have done for your topic.
APA Style
APA stands for the American Pschology Association style of formatting a formal essay and paper.  It is widely used in Social Studies, Psychology, and other scientific fields.  On their website, the American Pschology Association states "The best scientific writing is spare and straightforward".  The purpose of the APA style is to accomplish this kind of precision.  This is why it is used for your Dialectical Essay.

Plagarism

Plagarism is cheating, stealing, and copying another person intellectual work without giving the person proper acknowledgement.  It is usually done four ways.  First, students will quote a sentence or phrase (word for word) without citing the source (copy and paste).  Second, the student will paraphrase another person's ideas (restating in your own words) without acknowledging the original source.  Third, a student will hand in another person's work and claim that it is his or her own (outright cheating).  Finally, a student will use a diagram, chart, statistic, or image without stating where he or she aquired it (copyright infringement).

Any of these forms of plagarism will result in an immediate failure.  Moreover, other disciplinary action maybe levelled against the student.  To avoid this situation cite your references within your essay and create an accurate Reference page.
